Certificate awarding ceremony of the first ever certificate course in Enterprise Resources Planning in SAP environment offered parallel to a Master of Business Administration programme was held on 17th December 2016 at the Faculty board room of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies. Introduction of this Certificate course to the MBA programme was another innovative step taken by the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies (FCMS) of University of Kelaniya. This programme was conducted with several objectives in mind. One of the main objectives was to fill the void in ERP education in Sri Lankan higher education. Further, completion of this course will enable the students to enter into the initial step of learning to become SAP consultants. Workshop series was conducted by the Department of Marketing Management with the collaboration of SAP University Alliance Programme and attune Lanka (Pvt) Ltd – a fully owned subsidiary of MAS Holdings.
Representing the University, Prof. D.M. Semasinghe, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, Dr. W M C B Wanninayake- Head, Department of Marketing Management, Dr M M Shamil, the coordinator of the MBA programme and academic and non academic staff of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies graced the event while Mr Sujith Jayasekara- Consulting Manager, and Mr Indrachapa Jayasinghe – Consultant, graced the event representing attune Lanka (Pvt) Ltd – the key programme delivery partner.
